  195.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  196.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  197.  files in a window.  After the window is
  198.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  199.  pressing the space bar.  After all files
  200.  have been tagged press the ENTER key to
  201.  process the tagged files.

  203. *altc  !!add/update comments!!
  204.  This option will allow you to add or
  205.  update the compressed file comments.

  207. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  208.  This option will delete all files that
  209.  are contained in the compressed file
  210.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  211.  one specified via the ALT-P command.
  212.  
  213. *alte  !!extract list!!
  214.  This option allow you to specify which
  215.  files to extract from the compressed
  216.  file. You may specify more the one
  217.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  218.  cards are allowed.
  219.  
  220. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  221.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  222.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  223.  of files in a window.  After the window
  224.  is displayed you tag the files to
  225.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  226.  After all files have been tagged press
  227.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  228.  files.
  229.  
  230. *altg   !!search for string!!
  231.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  232.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  233.  characters using the program FGREP.COM
  234.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  235.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  236.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  237.  completed to results will be listed on the
  238.  screen.
  239.  
  240. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  241.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  242.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  243.  of files in a window.  After the window
  244.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  245.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  246.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  247.  key to process the tagged files.
  248.  
  249. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  250.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  251.  files from the compressed file into the
  252.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  253.  via the ALT-P command.
  254.  
  255. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  256.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  257.  and directory of where any extracted files
  258.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  259.  follows:
  260.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  261.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  262.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  263.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  264.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the enter
  265.  key.
  266.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  267.  use it's floating extract location
  268.  logic.
  269.  
  270. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  271.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  272.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  273.  the window pops up enter the first
  274.  character of the file you wish to find.
  275.  The display will be repositioned to the
  276.  first file in the list that starts with
  277.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  278.  stored in random order sort the list
  279.  first)
  280.  
  281. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  282.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  283.  the tagged file display line at the
  284.  bottom of the screen.
  285.  
  286. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  287.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  288.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  289.  of files in a window.  After the window
  290.  is displayed you tag the files to
  291.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  292.  After all files have been tagged press
  293.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  294.  files.
  295.  
  296. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  297.  This option will display the master
  298.  comment record and the file comment
  299.  records for the selected compressed
  300.  file.
  301.  
  302. *altx  !!extract all!!
  303.  This option will extract ALL files from
  304.  the compressed file into the current
  305.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  306.  the ALT-P command.
  307.  
  308. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  309.  This option allows run a program against
  310.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  311.  to enter the program name to run, the
  312.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  313.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  314.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  315.  to pause after each execution of your
  316.  program.
  317.  
  318. *altz  !!virus check!!
  319.  This option will check files to see if they
  320.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  321.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  322.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  323.  and have used the configuration program to
  324.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  326.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  327.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  329. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  330.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  331.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  332.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  333.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  334.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  335.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  336.  compressed file contents screen.
  337.  
  338. *c  !!create-new!!
  339.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  340.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  341.  to enter the
  342.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  343.  compressed file to create, whether you
  344.  want to add or move files into the new
  345.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  346.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  347.  new compressed file.
  348.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  349.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  350.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  351.  PAK files!!!!!
  352.  
  353.  You will also be asked if you want to
  354.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  355.  the entered file spec as is.
  356.  
  357.  If the compression program you choose
  358.  supports saving path information you will
  359.  also be asked if you want to save
  360.  directory information, and if you want to
  361.  recurse the directory tree.
  362.  
  363.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  364.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  365.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  366.  information that can be stored inside the
  367.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  368.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  369.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  370.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)
  371.  
  372.  
  373. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  374.  This option will delete all tagged files
  375.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  376.  asked to verify the delete before the
  377.  files are actually deleted from the
  378.  compressed file.
  379.  
  380. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  381.  This option will extract all tagged
  382.  files from the compressed file.
  383.  
  384. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  385.  This option will activate the alternate
  386.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  387.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  388.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  389.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  390.  
  391. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  392.  This option will set the compressed
  393.  file's time and date to the time and
  394.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  395.  the compressed file.
  396.  
  397. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  398.  This option will untag all currently
  399.  tagged files.
  400.  
  401. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  402.  This option will tag all files in the
  403.  currently displayed window.
  404.  
  405. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  406.  This option will convert a self
  407.  extracting file back to its native
  408.  compressed file format. The self
  409.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  410.  The normal compressed file will be
  411.  built on the same drive and directory
  412.  where self extracting file is found.
  413.  
  414. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  415.  This option allows you to copy all
  416.  tagged files from the current compressed
  417.  file into another compressed file.  The
  418.  target compressed file may be any
  419.  currently supported format.
  420.  
  421. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  422.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  423.  drop you off into disk and directory
  424.  that is specified as the extract
  425.  location.
  426.  
  427. *d  !!delete one file!!
  428.  This option will delete the currently
  429.  highlighted file from the compressed
  430.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  431.  delete before the delete is actually
  432.  done.
  433.  
  434. *e  !!extract one file!!
  435.  This option will extract the currently
  436.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  437.  drive and directory, or the
  438.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  439.  the ALT-P command.
  440.  
  441. *f      !!freshen!!
  442.  Using this option you can specify the
  443.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  444.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  445.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  446.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  447.  extensions.
  448.  
  449. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  450.  This option will temporarily exit to
  451.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  452.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  453.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  454.  the return key.
  455.  
  456. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  457.  This option will temporarily exit to
  458.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  459.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  460.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  461.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  462.  
  463. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  464.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  465.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  466.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  467.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  468.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  469.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  470.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  471.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  472.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  473.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  474.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  475.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  476.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  477.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  478.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  479.  
  480. *f8  !!edit!!
  481.  This option will allow you to edit a
  482.  file in the compressed file.  This
  483.  option will only work if you specified
  484.  an editor to use when you configured
  485.  compressedPER.
  486.  
  487. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  488.  Using this option you can specify how
  489.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  490.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  491.  Extension, Date, Size, or Unsorted.
  492.  
  493. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  494.  This option will allow you to set the
  495.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  496.  programs.  When you set the compression
  497.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  498.  change it again.
  499.  
  500.  
  501. *g  !!password!!
  502.  This option allows you to specify the password
  503.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  504.  compression program does not support passwords
  505.  an error window will appear informing you that
  506.  the option is not supported.
  507.  
  508. *i  !!show info!!
  509.  This option will show information about
  510.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  511.  files in file, total size of all files,
  512.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  513.  
  514. *m     !!mode!!
  515.  Using this option you can specify the
  516.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  517.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  518.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  519.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  520.  extensions.
  521.  
  522. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  523.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  524.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  525.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  526.  the compressed display heading line.
  527.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  528.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  529.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  530.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  531.  
  532. *p  !!path options!!
  533.  This option allows you to specify if you
  534.  want to save and/or use path information
  535.  when working with compressed files.
  536.  
  537. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  538.  This option will immediately exit
  539.  SHEZ.
  540.  
  541. *r  !!run a file!!
  542.  This option will extract and run the
  543.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  544.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  545.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  546.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  547.  deleted.
  548.  
  549. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  550.  This option allows you to add and or
  551.  update the comment records associated
  552.  with the currently highlighted file.
  553.  
  554. *sfts  !!add/update file comments!!
  555.  This option allows you to add and or
  556.  update the comment records assocaited
  557.  with each file in the compressed file.
  558.  
  559. *t  !!test compressed!!
  560.  This option will test the integrity of
  561.  the compressed file.
  562.  
  563. *u       !!update!!
  564.  Using this option you can specify the
  565.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  566.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  567.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  568.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  569.  extensions.
  570.  
  571. *v  !!view!!
  572.  This option will allow you to view the
  573.  contents of a file in the compressed
  574.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  575.  to view the file.
  576.  
  577. *z  !!mask!!
  578.  This option allows you to specify a file
  579.  mask to be used when displaying the
  580.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  581.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  582.  only the files having an extension of C
  583.  will be displayed on the screen.
  584.  
  585. *maltd !!view 4dos!!
  586.  This option will display the 4DOS or
  587.  NDOS file descriptions that are
  588.  maintained by the DESCRIBE command.
  589.  SHEZ can only handle a description
  590.  file that is 30,000 bytes or less.
  591.  
  592. *mtab !!open second file window!!
  593.  When the DOS directory window is
  594.  displayed, pressing the TAB key will
  595.  open a secondary directory display
  596.  window.  You may view other directories
  597.  and/or drives while this window is
  598.  open.  Pressing the TAB key again is
  599.  the only way to close the secondary
  600.  display window.
  601.  
  602. *malte !!edit highlighted file!!
  603.  This option will invoke the editor that
  604.  you specified when you configured SHEZ.
  605.  The highlighted file will be passed to
  606.  the editor.
  607.  
  608. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  609.  This option will delete all files that
  610.  have been tagged in the file window.
  611.  After all the files are deleted the file
  612.  window will be refreshed.

  614. *mf3  !!view file!!
  615.  This option allows you to view the
  616.  highlighted file.
  617.  
  618. *mf4  !!delete file/dir!!
  619.  This option allows you to delete the
  620.  highlighted file/dir.  You will be
  621.  prompted to verify the delete.

  623. *mf5  !!file stats!!
  624.  This option will display the highlighted
  625.  file's time,date,and size.
  626.  
  627. *mf6  !!toggle $.$ *.*!!
  628.  This option will toggle the DOS files to
  629.  display between the $.$ specification
  630.  and the *.* specification.
  631.  
  632. *mf9  !!file sort!!
  633.  This option will sort the file list by
  634.  File name, File extension, or File date,
  635.  File size, or unsorted, depending on how
  636.  you reply to the sort prompt. Enter a N,
  637.  E, D, S or U.
  638.  
  639. *mf8  !!make sfx files!!
  640.  F8 will make a self extracting file from
  641.  the highlighted file.
  642.  SHIFT-F8 will make self extracting files
  643.  from all tagged files.
  644.  (ONLY ZIP,LZH,PAK, and SDN files are
  645.  currently supported)

  648.  This option allows you to enter the name
  649.  of a file you wish to view.  The
  650.  user specified Browse program, that was
